When you use the Line or Polyline tool, you can select the raster line for vectorizing using one of the following two selection methods. Exercise V3: Converting Raster Polylines to 2D Polylines In this exercise you learn how to work with a follower command that automatically follows a selected raster path. If Dynamic Input is active, prompts appear near the cursor during vectorization otherwise, the prompts appear only on the command line. Exercise V2: Replacing Raster Text In this exercise you learn how to replace multiline text paragraphs (e.g., construction notes), or single lines of text with vector versions. Settings on the VTools General tab of the Raster Design Options dialog box specify whether the Line tool removes the underlying raster when you exit the command, forces the vector lines to conform to current drafting settings, or assigns layers to the vectors based on the width of the underlying raster lines. Once AutoCAD Raster Design toolset has vectorized a line segment, you can verify its geometry (including angle and length), switch the start point and endpoint, and trim or extend the line. Please see the output vector files in Figure3.AutoCAD Raster Design toolset provides separate vectorization tools to convert raster lines, polylines, rectangles, circles, and arcs.ĭepending on which raster line type you select, AutoCAD Raster Design toolset creates an AutoCAD line or polyline entity with the same position and dimensions as the raster original. Once a vectorization command is initiated, you can continue to vectorize additional raster entities using either selection method. Description: a new and very useful program from Autodesk company to work on raster (pixel) images with the possibility of converting them into vector images. You can also define the raster entity by clicking two or more points on the image. Please check your target file in the specified location. In many cases, a vectorization command can convert a raster entity to vector with a single click. Convert raster images into DWG objects with the powerful vectorization tools. AutoCAD Raster Design provides interactive tools to convert raster entities into vector entities easily and quickly. I recommended a program called MagicTracer to an architect I know whos been very satisfied. AutoCAD Raster Design is a raster-to-vector conversion software package. The best you get is lines that are in the shape of walls and doors. Like Dave mentioned, I dont know of any raster to vector convertor that recognizes doors and walls either. At the bottom of this interface, you will see a blue progress bar which will be empty again when the batch conversion is over. You get very clean results most of the time this way. Then you will see the interface of Raster to Vector Converter again and you should click on "Convert" button. If you have done everything, please click on "OK" button. Converts raster lines to vector lines or polylines. Some other parameters are also given here. In "Color" item, you can set the line color and the fill color of the output vector images. The application also allows you to set the page margin yourself in "Size" item. You can also use the default width and height. In two other items-"Size" and "Color" items, you can set the width and height of the output vector images. To the vector path, there are three kinds of handling methods supplied by Raster to Vector Converter and you can choose any one. Create lines and polylines from raster images, and convert raster files into vector drawings. The application also supports to suppress speckle of the original raster images when convert raster to vector in batch. The resolution of output vector images can be set from 0 to 920 dpi. A lot of people want to convert small images like company logos, in which case you're probably better off just tracing over it with lines or solids. Photographs Leave it raster and send it with the DWG file. If you want to rotate the converted vector images, please input the rotation degree in "Rotate" group box. For the former, Raster Design can help, as can most raster-to-vector programs. To set the paper size for the output vector images, you can choose one in "Pagesize" group box. Raster Design Toolset: Use raster to vector tools to help you edit scanned drawings and convert raster images into DWG objects. In the top of the dialog box, you can choose the output format for the target file in "Output Format" combo box from the supported formats. Access spatial data stored in files, databases, and web services, and aggregate it with your AutoCAD design data.
